James McShane brings extensive financial leadership experience in accounting, reporting, and operational oversight. Over the course of his career, he has held senior finance and controller roles, supporting both corporations and consulting clients. His work has focused on streamlining reporting, modernizing accounting practices, and building systems that strengthen internal controls and executive decision-making.
James specializes in fractional finance and controller services, giving organizations access to executive-level financial guidance without the cost of a full-time C-suite hire. His approach blends technical expertise with practical leadership, ensuring institutions have the clarity, structure, and financial discipline to make informed, future-ready decisions. Laura McShane, CRCM, CERP
Co-Founder | Lead, Compliance & Operational Risk
Laura McShane is a nationally recognized compliance and risk leader with certifications as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP). She has built her career guiding institutions through regulatory change and operational complexity, including as Vice President of Compliance Risk at CardWorks, a consultant to the Bank of Hawaii, and over 15 years as Senior Vice President of Compliance & Operational Risk at Bank of America.
Laura specializes in regulatory strategy, risk frameworks, audit preparation, and compliance training. She is known for her ability to simplify the complex, turning regulations into clear, actionable strategies that not only keep institutions safe but help them grow with confidence. At SoundPoint, Laura equips clients with the foresight and resilience needed to protect stakeholders and navigate every shift in the regulatory tide.
